THE COMPANY
This market leader is one of the leading media players in the financial services industry operating the largest network of specialist live events, print magazines and community websites that now need an ambitious, target-driven, commercially astute Sales Manager to join their dynamic team.
The company produces award winning publications, fast growing websites, exciting live events and much sought after research and data. THE ROLE
Following recent and continued investment and development, this is an exciting opportunity to take commercial ownership of two highly successful brands initially selling personally with the scope to recruit and build a team next year.
The key day-to-day tasks of the Commercial Sales Manager include:
- Meet personal sales targets selling advertising / sponsorship packages for the portfolio of products.
- Source and generate new client accounts that will generate revenues, increasing profitability of existing portfolio.
- Product knowledge. Learn the markets that you will be selling into. Have a working understanding of the marketplace through industry press, websites and questioning clients, management or other team members.
- Manage the future direction and revenue development of the portfolio
- Generating forecasts and budgeting effectively.
THE CANDIDATE
The key attributes of the Commercial Sales Manager include:
- Experience working in media / advertising sales and must understand how business – business media works.
- An understanding in the variety of advertising/revenue platforms across online, print, newsletter (in-house and third party) and app e.g. CPM, CPC, CPL, CPA etc
- Experienced and working knowledge of advertising agencies is preferred (ideally financial media agencies such as Adventis Coltman, Ptarmigan, Capital City Media, White Spider, Mediacom, MEC )
- Ideally they should have an understanding of the financial market or have the ability to learn fast.
- A can-do attitude and drive to work hard and achieve results combines with sound networking skills is essential.
